Jessica Day is the Founder of Willow Oak Consulting and serves as a Senior Consultant with Fountainworks, partnering with public-sector and mission-driven organizations to strengthen leadership and improve organizational performance. She supports clients through strategic facilitation, leadership development, executive coaching, and change management.

A native of Knightdale, North Carolina, Jessica earned a B.S. in Business Administration from UNC Greensboro and an MBA from NC State University. She began her career in supply chain with Syngenta Crop Protection and later BASF, developing a strong foundation in operational excellence and organizational performance.

Jessica also brings extensive public leadership experience to her work. She was elected to the Knightdale Town Council in 2017, became Mayor Pro Tem in 2019, and became Mayor of Knightdale in 2021. She made history as the first African American woman to serve as Mayor of Knightdale and the first African American woman to hold a mayoral seat in Wake County.

Her leadership extends to regional and statewide service, including the North Carolina League of Municipalities Board of Directors and the Wake County Mayors Association, where she served as President. Jessica believes sustainable organizational performance requires more than a strong plan — her work helps leaders create the conditions that allow organizations to perform at their highest potential.
